Wednesday, April 1st – Lower Dens Release Show with Horse Lords & Matteah Baim

I’m a big fan of Jana Hunter’s music. A friend gave me a split with her and Devendra Banhart from a few years back that is face-melting. This show will be amazing as her band, Lower Dens are one of the best around. I saw them open for Beach House at The Lyric a few years back and they were killer.

Saturday, April 4th – Night Birds / No Problem / Pure Junk / Widows Watch
Metro Gallery, 1700 N Charles St. at 9:00 PM – $10
Double Dagger’s Nolan Strals started Pure Junk after Double D broke up a few years back and they’re pretty rad. Night Birds are a Brooklyn punk band and are quite energetic and frantic. This is a steal for 10 bucks and will make for a pretty wild Saturday night.

Sunday, April 5th – Terry Gilliam VHS Double Feature (12 Monkeys and Brazil)
The Crown, 1910 N. Charles St. at 8:00 PM – FREE
I totally cheated here because Terry Gilliam makes movies not music but so what, right? He makes some killer films and 12 Monkeys and Brazil MIGHT be his two best. See them on VHS and drink for cheap on Sunday night at The Crown.
