A rotating cast of improvisational musicians playing a blend of free jazz and experimental noise makes for a unique experience every time you see it. There isn’t a place in Baltimore that supports a wider range of musical styles than the Windup Space.

I’ve seen Letitia VanSant and her band, The Bonafides, once before opening for local folk singer Caleb Stine. I knew she had a new record called, ‘Parts and Labor’ but had forgotten about it until I was looking through City Paper’s Best Albums of 2015 where the album was featured. Baltimore isn’t necessarily known for its folk scene but this album is one of my favorites right now and Letitia puts on a hell of a show.
