School 33 Art Center seeks artists for its fourth and final Co-Lab(oration) project, funded by the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. Applicants must be interested in collaborating with artists of varying disciplines, to create an outdoor installation within School 33’s new rain garden, located along Birkhead Street. Three artists will be selected to collaborate on the project, which will open in July 2015 and remain on view for at least one year. An application can be found online at www.school33.org.

Funded by the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation’s Artistic Innovation & Collaboration Grant, Co-Lab(oration) is an on-going platform for diverse artists to work collaboratively in a process of creative exploration, resulting in the development of multiple new works. The goals of Co-Lab(oration) are to:
• cultivate the production and exhibition of new artwork that integrates the ideas of artists from varied disciplines,
• encourage artistic experimentation and creative risk-taking to support the development of innovative practices or new artistic forms, and
• transform non-gallery spaces, creating permanent frameworks for future multi-disciplinary exhibitions, thus enabling the building itself to become a work of art.
