Bmore Music Picks is a weekly feature that highlights shows, concerts or events to check out in Baltimore (and the surrounding area). While it’s not a comprehensive events calendar, our picks are diverse and may highlight jazz, rock, folk, noise, punk, hip-hop, R&B, metal, experimental or just about any other sub-genre or style that helps make Baltimore’s music scene varied and vibrant.

For a more comprehensive events calendar, check out the Culture FlyShow Space, or Weekly.Citypaper.com.

Tuesday, October 21st – Twin Peaks / Tweens / Sun Club
Metro Gallery, 1700 N. Charles St. at 7:00 PM – $8

Local favorites, Sun Club put on a killer, super energetic live show. Twin Peaks are a great grungy, pop band out of Chicago so this bill should make for a fun Tuesday night. I recommend seeing Sun Club as many times as you can at places like Metro Gallery before they outgrow it because they’re about to BLOW UP.

Friday, October 24th – Friday Swing Night at Mobtown Ballroom
Mobtown Ballroom, 861 Washington Blvd. at 7:30 PM

The wonderful and eclectic Mobtown Ballroom recently put in a full bar so it makes their Friday Night Swing Night (featuring The Baltimore Strut) even more amazing. This place is one of Charm City’s hidden gems.

Saturday, October 25th – Sharon Van Etten
Ottobar, 2549 N Howard St. at 8:00 PM – $16

I rarely suggest shows that don’t include local Baltimore acts BUT it’s a Sharon Van Etten show.  I promise it will be 16 bucks very well spent. Get your tickets ahead of time as it may sell out.
