Bmore Music Picks is a weekly feature that highlights shows, concerts or events to check out in Baltimore (and the surrounding area). While it’s not a comprehensive events calendar, our picks are diverse and may highlight jazz, rock, folk, noise, punk, hip-hop, R&B, metal, experimental or just about any other sub-genre or style that helps make Baltimore’s music scene varied and vibrant.

For a more comprehensive events calendar, check out the Baltimore Fun GuideShow Space, or Weekly.Citypaper.com.

Friday, June 12th – Swearin’ / Potty Mouth / Wing Dam / Dungeon Kids
Ottobar, 2549 N. Howard St., 8:00PM – $10 (link to tix)
Wing Dam and Dungeon Kids are two of my local favorites (and they both have new material coming soon). Both of them, along with Swearin’, are heavily influenced by 90s indie.

The Wasafiri Voices from Kenya, a member of The Silk Road Dance Company, musician Ghazi Kurdistani, and other special guests will perform (and share) refugee stories at the Village Learning Place in Charles Village.

Sunday, June 15th – People Under the Stairs w/ OG Dutch Master, Eze Jackson and Rapdragons
Metro Gallery, 1700 N. Charles St., 7:30PM – $10 (link to tix)

People Under the Stairs are a hip hop duo from Los Angeles but I’m recommending this bill for local Eze Jackson. He recently dropped a killer track sampling Dan Deacon’s “True Thrush.”

Sunday, June 15th – Father’s Day Father Son Collaboration
An Die Musik, 409 N. Charles St., 8:00PM – $20 in advance, $23 at the door

Jazz collaborations of all father-son duos? Yes, that sounds fantastic. I’m giving you a great Father’s Day gift idea.
