Monday, May 26th – Banner Pilot / War on Women / 96 Ghosts / Over Our Eyes
Metro Gallery, 1700 N Charles St., 8:00PM – $10 (link to tix)
I chose this event because of War on Women, who rock. Their blend of rampant rock n’ roll and in-your-face feminist punk is led by the charismatic lead singer, Shawna Potter. Metro Gallery has been booking some really killer shows recently.

- Wednesday, May 28th – Live Music at WC Harlan
WC Harlan, 400 W 23rd St., 9:00PM – FREE
You won’t find any schedule or calendar online for WC Harlan’s live music, but I can guarantee that on Wednesday nights around 9PM there will be music and it will be old-time-y. Whether it’s pre-prohibition jazz, Dixie-land jazz or ragtime piano, WC’s gambit of live music is the perfect accompaniment to their delicious Old Fashioned, which is made with black walnut bitters and an Italian cherry.
No online info to be had, just go there and be entranced.

Thursday, May 29th – Joy Classic / Raindeer / Tiny Victories / Heavy Lights
Ottobar, 2549 N. Howard St., at 8:30PM – $8 (link to tix)
Joy Classic and Raindeer make for a great bill. Raindeer, which dropped their trippy-electro record a couple years ago, are ramping up their touring in preparation for a new album this summer. Joy Classic are great jangly, grungy pop band.
