Cat Fraser and Carol Trawick presented Barry Nemett, from Stevenson, MD, with the $10,000 Bethesda Painting Award on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. The $2,000 second prize was awarded to Christine Gray, of Alexandria, VA and third prize of $1,000 was given to Hedieh Ilchi of Rockville, MD.
This is the ninth year of the Bethesda Painting Awards, an annual juried competition produced by the Bethesda Urban Partnership and Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District to honor regional painters. The exhibition features the work of eight finalists and is up at Gallery B in Bethesda through June 29.
Jurors for the 2013 Bethesda Painting Awards were Christine Neil, Tim Doud, and Duane Keiser.
