BIG SHOW Big Party Sat Jun 25 7-10pm w/ Junkyard Saints. Peter Pan Award to Gary Kachadourian 7:30pm. $5, FREE mbrs.

A jaw-dropping, life affirming, once-a-year chance to celebrate the wealth of creativity the members of the Creative Alliance have to offer, THE BIG SHOW was the first thing the Creative Alliance ever did when we started sixteen years ago, and remains one of our favorite traditions. It’s also a great opportunity to pick up some affordable art! Anyone who’s a member (and it’s a great time to join or renew) can put a piece of art in the show, which is always beautifully hung, wildly diverse, and full of talent.

With 200 or so artists, THE BIG SHOW opening party is a guaranteed smash. Mix in the driving horn section and high-energy grooves of the Junkyard Saints – our vote for most danceable band around – and it’s a safe bet your feet will be sore in the morning. Plus tonight we present our Peter Pan Award (for keeping Bmore’s art scene forever young) to artist/curator Gary Kachadourian, who helmed the Artscape exhibits and other City arts programs for 22 years and for whom we’ve all been thanking our lucky stars as long as we can remember.
