Those already familiar with Sirvet’s oeuvre know of his journeys between the worlds of the industrial and the organic, and how he takes the viewer with him on those journeys through the visual means of “brutal, polished craft”. In review, his work has been described as “Modernist rather than Minimalist”, and defining “the masculine, industrial aesthetic”. Sirvet’s new works coalesce in a hybrid stream of patterned structures best described as “restructural”, as opposed to the more overused artistic exploration of deconstruction. The artist has welcomed the innovative descriptor, as Sirvet feels it aptly captures his thought patterns, which restructure archetypal forms with unexpected and elegant industrial overtones.

Sirvet’s background as a structural engineer with NY/DC prestigious firm Robert Silman Associates has allowed him to constantly read the material nature of our daily urban environment, whether it be a question of its survival, decay, or its potential restoration. His love of the innate laws of structure, science, and nature and the raw sensuality that interdependently binds, mutates, destroys and creates, inform his own artistic vision of Restructuralism.

Sirvet has been attracting the attention of collectors across the nation with works that “range explosively in shape, materials, size, form and colors …with a mischievous ‘catch me if you can’ ingenuity and breadth of vision.” Works on display at the Touchet Gallery include small scale wall-hung constructions, free-standing dimensional sculptures and large scale works suitable for creating a vivid impression in private or public interior environments.
