The Hexagon Space presents: Harmonic Huh, an exhibition of drawings by Sarah Anderson, Andy Jenkins, and Luke Ramsey, curated by Baltimore-based Victoria Long. Through black ink drawings on paper, the artists in Harmonic Huh explore various earthly, spiritual and spatial realms. Colors vibrate and inspire, but these artists get back at the basics: positive and and negative imagery, black lines and white space — the elemental architecture of psychedelia. Harmonic Huh celebrates everyday shapes and objects, the murk of the mundane and the sheer far-outness of existence.

Sarah Anderson is an artist based in Los Angeles. She is the co-founder of the Sumi Ink Club, a drawing collective that creates collaborative drawings using ink on paper. Sarah is also a member of a musical project called Lucky Dragons. Lucky Dragons has presented interactive performances in a wide variety of contexts– The Smell, the Whitney Museum of American Art (as part of the 2008 Whitney Biennial), and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Sarah is currently working on her MFA at the University of Southern California. For Harmonic Huh, Sarah is sharing drawings from a new series that she has been working on. Andy Jenkins is a musician and visual artist from Richmond, Virginia. He is currently at work on a zine called TODS (Turn Off the Digital Society). He also plays in a community gamelan ensemble which will perform in Indonesia this summer. His work has been shown at Space 1026 in Philadelphia, The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative in Charlottesville, Virginia, and as part of the 2008 Artscape juried exhibit Penned. Andy was the co-founder of Thanky, a temporary gallery in Richmond that existed for 12 months and hosted exhibits by Ron Rege Jr., Elvis Studio, Erin Womack, Geneviève Castrée, Kyle Field, as well as many other artists. Luke Ramsey is an artist from Canada whose work features a continuous flow of pen on paper. He is one of the founding members of Islands Fold, an artist residency located on Pender Island, B.C. Luke has collaborated with over 90 different artists to date and has exhibited in Bordeaux, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Portland, Vancouver and Taipei.
