Fusion: a merging of diverse, distinct, or separate elements into a unified whole.
These three international super stars of Art come together in a three person exhibition at Goya Contemporary titled “Fusion,” curated by Amy Raehse.
Whitney Museum of American Art’s current exhibitor, Christian Marclay, explores the fusion of fine art and audio cultures. Wilhelm Mundt literally fuses the discarded elements of his studio practice into new objects. Pia Fries (former studio assistant to Gerhard Richter) fuses elements of silkscreen & photography alongside, under, and against fantastic piles of caked, troweled, scraped and smeared oil paint.
The three artists create a chain reaction of associations. All three can be said to be enveloped in the process of fusion in different and yet connected ways.
Goya Contemporary is free and open to the public.
