On Thursday, May 11, BmoreArt hosted a magazine release party for Issue 15, the Migration Issue, at Woodberry Kitchen’s newly revamped event space. The party included invitations for all featured artists, contributors, and advertising sponsors, as well as to everyone who subscribes to the publication at the Artist level or above. Our event was generously sponsored by Guilford Hall Brewery, Baltimore Spirits Company, and Woodberry Events with internationally inspired catering from Cane de Sucre, Cocina Luchadoras, and Mona’s Super Noodle.
In BmoreArt’s Migration issue (our fifteenth!!), we consider global influence in conjunction with unique aspects of regionalism, examining how disparate cultural elements become a part of our collective conversation about and within this city—through visual art, food, fashion, performance, and hybridity across genres. We feature artists (as well as writers, photographers, designers, and arts professionals) from every continent except Antarctica, with emphasis on their original home, transition, and experience as Baltimoreans.
We are always so excited to host these events, to welcome new members to our community, and to recognize the incredible talent that our city manages to produce. Our next issue will be themed around Collaboration and release in the fall – and we hope that you send us your ideas and pitches to consider as we move towards the next print journal.
