Ami Dang is a development consultant with BmoreArt and also a musician and composer based in Baltimore. She is passionate about the power of the arts as a tool to engage with and mobilize communities. She has consulted with The Compound, FORCE: Upsetting Rape Culture, the Maryland Center for History and Culture, and High Zero, to name a few. From 2021 to 2024, she served as Director of Development at New Music USA. Trained in Indian classical music (sitar, voice) and electronic music and media, her work invites the audience to reframe their assumptions about the colonial history of music, the arts, technology, and performance and its place in the contemporary musical landscape. She has performed on four continents and released seven recorded albums of original work. She has received a Rubys Artist Award (2023), two Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Awards, and a Baker Artist Award (2020).
